"Three Minute Thesis COIMBRA - 2021 Edition " 

The selection hearing of the Regional final Montpellier 2021

 the selection hearing for the 3 minute thesis competition to participate in the Montpellier regional final took place on Friday 22 January online.

12 candidates participated in these editions with quality presentations on various theses.

8 of them have been selected to follow training with coaches and will present their thesis at the regional final in Montpellier to be held in early March.

The LR Doctoral College and the College of Montpellier are back again for a new edition of the "Three Minute Thesis - COIMBRA".

The 3MT COIMBRA is an International competition of doctoral thesis that cultivates students academic, presentation and research communication skills.

The registration for the regional audition is now opened and will be availble until 14th january, 2021.

Objectifs :
The Coimbra group is organizing CG 3MT, a “3 minutes thesis” competition in English. Member Universities organize a regional competition to select one candidate for the final competition, to be held in Montpellier on June 2021 and you are invited to participate.
In this context, the Doctoral College LR Universities and the Montpellier University Doctoral College are co-organizing a regional competition to select one candidate for the international competition. Take this opportunity to improve your skills in scientific mediation and in English communication, and prepare yourself for job and post-doc interviews.
 
Programme :
A first audition will be held on January the 22th in Montpellier. Candidates must prepare a 3 minutes talk describing their thesis subject, in terms that should be understandable by non-specialists. It is possible to prepare one slide illustrating the subject, only one image with no animation.

Following this audition, successful candidates will complete a 3-days training (on January and february) in science popularization, public speaking and rhetoric to prepare the regional competition.

Regional competition will be held in March in Montpellier, in front of a multidisciplinary jury. Candidates will be filmed and the video of the selected student will be sent to the Coimbra group for the international competition. PhD students who have achieved the 3 best presentations will have the opportunity to participate in the final competition in Prague (Czech Republic).
