Highlights from the Montpellier Regional Three Minute Thesis auditions

On Monday, January 19, the Doctoral College of Languedoc-Roussillon and the Doctoral College of the University of Montpellier hosted the regional auditions for the Three Minute Thesis competition. This international contest challenges PhD candidates to present their research in just 3 minutes, clearly and engagingly, for a non-specialist audience.

Eight PhD candidates took part, showcasing creativity and confidence in their presentations. After deliberation, five participants were selected to continue in the competition. The chosen candidates will now attend five half-day training sessions on science communication, public speaking, and rhetoric in English, helping them refine their presentations ahead of the regional final.

This event provides an important opportunity for doctoral researchers to highlight their work and represent the region at the national and international stages of the 3MT competition.
